Aside from our meals and our monthly Fresh Express events through Lowcountry food bank which consists of pallets of fresh fruits and vegetables, we also give away any other food donations that may come in. We partner with other churches and agencies that help those in need.

The Shepherd’s Table offers volunteer and community service hours Monday through Friday between the hours of 9 a.m. To 6 p.m. For individuals who are 16 or older. For volunteers who are ages 12 to 16, they are welcome to volunteer as long as they are accompanied by a parent or guardian. We also may have availability for volunteering to help during the Fresh Express events. Please contact us for details as this is a once in a month event.

Volunteering with your church or as a group

If you want to come as a group or with your church, we have opportunities to cook as well as serve our dinners meals. The dates must be scheduled in advance.

These opportunities include cooking from 12:30 p.m. To 3:30 p.m. And or serving from 3:45 p.m. To 5:30 p.m. Volunteers will be encouraged to offer a prayer and devotion (roughly 5 minutes parentheses during our dinner service parentheses this is not a requirement, one of the staff can do this if needed .)

Please notify us if they do not have available Personnel to clean the areas that they will be working in (so that we can prepare .)

The Shepherd’s Table accepts donations of uncooked and unopened food. We specifically asked for items found under our wish list. This is on our website and handouts to include items that are used to fill our weekend bags.

•The Shepherd’s Table has partnered with rolling forward from CC you. With this partnership, we are able to help our guests by also collecting toiletry items and or kits as well as paper products for the giving wall.

Steering committee

One of the biggest ways to help the Shepherd’s Table is to join or help our steering committee. The steering committee works with the steering chair, and director to help with fundraisers and fundraising ideas to help support the Shepherd’s Table.

We couldn’t do without you financial support. We accept Financial donations throughout the year as well as through our friends campaign at the end of the year. Please make any checks or money orders payable to The Shepherd’s Table using our PO Box. You may also give through our Donate button on our website or in-person at our physical address.

How You Can Get Involved

Call (843) 488-3663 to Donate Or Contact Us to get Involved

In 2007, our first Executive Director, Lyn Snyder; an individual with vision and passion, convinced community leaders that we needed to help those who were hungry, homeless, or in need Horry County.  At that time, a Board of Directors representing 9 churches was formed, a building was rented, equipment was obtained, and we opened our doors in 2008 to begin serving meals to people needing assistance in Horry County.

Our guests are the homeless, working and non-working poor, veterans, and senior citizens, including men, women, children and families.

Why not schedule your church, business or organization to help serve lunch or dinner? It’s a wonderful positive experience for the volunteers and deeply appreciated by all of us, including our patrons.
